Elevate to lead: 50 years of Youth Legacy, Inspiring the future of our nation

On the 12th of June, Fons Luminis Secondary School — the Fountain of Light — stood as a beacon of hope and empowerment in commemorating 50 years since the 1976 Soweto student uprising.

This pioneering youth and career event, the school’s first of its kind. Through God’s grace and the dedication of many, the day brought together learners, educators, exhibitors, and spiritual leaders.

Career exhibitions, motivational sessions, health guidance, and creative showcases unfolded alongside prayer and planting incorruptible seeds in the hearts of students.

The event was not only about opportunity but about legacy — raising leaders who will carry light into the future of our nation.

We were blessed by the support of organizations including CYGSA, SADAG, SANCA Soweto, Diepkloof Clinic, Vital College, HWSETA, Services SETA, AVIVE BDS, EFF Ward 37, and Dr. Tshidi from Witswatersrand University, Lesego Chauke City College featuring DJ Thomas, Restoration House Bible Church, Studio 411, Heartlines Fathers Matter. Their presence and contributions strengthened the vision and gave learners practical pathways to pursue.

Fons Luminis Learners will rise, teachers will stand firm, and communities will be transformed. This is not just history remembered; it is destiny awakened.

Once again a big thank you to everyone who participated and contributed to make this event a success. Forward we go — stronger, brighter, unstoppable.
